Convert.exe

While making a list of very functional programs that I have found along the way, I forgot about one that I use all the time, and it's an easy, free program that I have used for years. It's a converting program created by Josh Madison.

It is very simple and can run without any ads, or updates and is used in over 100 countries across the world and I recently learned that it's even used on the International Space Station. (ISS). That is about as impressive as it gets for creating something that anyone can find useful. The table below shows the operating systems that runs on, and yes, you can use it in a virtual environment on macOS.

Convert runs on the following operating systems:

  • Windows 95
  • Windows NT 4
  • Windows 98
  • Windows 98SE
  • Windows ME
  • Windows 2000
  • Windows XP
  • Windows 2003
  • Windows Vista (32-bit & 64-bit)
  • Windows 7 (32-bit & 64-bit)
  • Windows 8 (32-bit & 64-bit)
  • Windows 10 (32-bit & 64-bit)
  • Linux/UNIX/anything that runs Wine1
There isn't much more to say about this program other than it's a must-have for anyone that deals with conversions.
